Instrument-Assisted Adjustment

What Is an Instrument-Assisted Adjustment?
With a standard chiropractic adjustment, the chiropractor moves the specific joint that isn’t moving correctly to its end range (as far as it would normally go), then puts a quick thrust on the joint to move it past the normal end range, causing the joint to gap. This makes a popping/cracking sound of gas bubbles cavitating in the joint (just like a glow stick!).
Instrument-assisted adjusting involves gently tapping the joint with either an Activator (one quick tap) or an ArthroStim (multiple quick taps), working with the nervous system to restore the normal motion without gapping the joint. In fact, adjustments with these instruments are so quick and measured, the body’s muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and accurate adjustment.
